HOST FAMILY GIFTS
Here are some suggested gift ideas for anyone in your host family: unusual stationery, picture postcards, a photo book, small crafts objects, a book about your home town, candy, candles or something you have made yourself. Note that Oregon has a 30 year academic exchange with Ecuador and we‘re told that most families who‘ve hosted Oregonians have Oregon picture books.
For children: toys, T-shirts, items with US cartoon characters, stickers, toys like legos and games.
For adults: soaps, lotions, wine.
Your host family might want to ask you to bring something specific for them as imported products have very high taxes nowadays. If you are ok with this, they might buy this over the internet and have it delivered to you.

CLINICAL SITE GIFTS
Clinical sites are always in need of materials. From markers, crayons, chalks and other special bookstore items to reading material.
Bring along story books, stickers, games and toys that you think could be useful at clinical sites.
While you are here you will also be able to make material that best suits your site. So bring materials you think could be useful.
Bookstores in Ecuador don't have all of the fun things you can find in the US.
